South Wake Storm Youth Sports Association

Our History

The South Wake Youth Baseball association first started in the mid-90s, with youth sports leaders in our community responding to the desire for a higher level of baseball to challenge our young, talented athletes.  The Storm was associated with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), holding regular season leagues from which all-star teams were formed to compete on a regional, state, and national level.  Success came quickly for the Storm, as the top players in our area soon flocked to the Storm Complex on Piney Grove Wilbon Road.
As the baseball landscape has changed, so has our association.  Now, we are one of the few programs in our area to host dedicated training facilities for our travel teams.  In 2014 The South Wake Storm welcomed fastpitch softball to the organization. The South Wake Storm is now host to  five girls fastpitch teams and five baseball teams, both sports continue to prove that they are competitive powerhouses both on and off the field.
Throughout the years the South Wake Storm has helped numerous young girls and boys attain their lifelong goals of obtaining a college education while participating in collegiate sports. Emphasizing on teamwork and fundamentals, our girls work hard daily to achieve their goals- both in the classroom and on the diamond.
The South Wake Storm is led by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, who oversee the programs and seek to continue providing great opportunities in the community.  #GoStorm!
